Dirham (Silver, 15 mm, 1.62 g), Saray, AH 734-737 / AD 1333-1337. ‘lā ilāha illā / Allāh Muḥammad / rasūl Allāh’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a square, ‘al-sulṭān / al-aʿẓam / Ūzbik Khān’ (‘The supreme sultan, Uzbek Khan’ in Arabic); in the margin, mint and date formula off flan, of which only ‘sana’ (’year’ in Arabic) is legible.
